Worship this Sunday, Feb. 9 is canceled due to the Winter Storm.  All church activities are canceled Sunday, Feb.9. We are taking every precaution due to slippery roads and icy conditions.  Your safety is our primary concern.

Super Bowl Food Drive Challenge

This Sunday, Feb. 2 worship is at 10:00am (joint English service) and 11:00am (Japanese) 1548071_359774584163502_67676009_o

Seattle Area United Methodist Churches have been challenged by the Denver United Methodist Churches to a food drive in anticipation of the Super Bowl this Sunday.   Blaine Memorial is participating as well as many other churches in the area. For more information, click UNITEDINBLUE.

Food items can be brought to Blaine Memorial Social Hall from Tues-Friday 9-5pm and Sunday at 10:00am. All items must be collected by Sunday, Feb.2.  We are collecting for Asian Counseling Referral Services Food Bank. On Sunday, wear your team colors and pose for a picture with all the food items we collect!

This Sunday, January 26, join us for one worship service (English and Japanese).

10:00am:  Celebrating Blaine Memorial’s 110 Years of Ministry  &

Honoring 88+ Years of Living – For the Japanese and Japanese-American communities, the number 88 is significant, as the kanji (Japanese character writing system) for this number is the same character as the word rice- beiju, being referred to as Rice Celebration, which remind us of how vital these persons are to us in our lives and communities and celebrating the great abundance and blessing they have received in their longevity.

11:30am Potluck Luncheon:  A part of our celebration will be another tradition: Potluck! Food assignments are as follows:

A-M main dish and rice/dish 

N-Q main dish and salad

R-Z main dish and dessert

December 29:  10:00am   Joint English Speaking Service

January 5:       10:00am   Joint English Speaking Service Immediately following the service, we will celebrate the new year with Ozoni, a traditional ceremonial Japanese soup with mochi rice cakes!  The Choir is hosting this special meal and all are invited.

Christmas Eve Worship Services

Please join us for our Christmas Eve IMG_0918Worship Celebrations as we welcome the presence of Christ into our lives and this world. 

 3:00pm  The Greatest Gift – Family-Friendly Worship  For the child in all of us…the story of Jesus told in a fun, interactive way using a Children’s Story Bible. There will be movement and an element of surprise as families open gifts together and share the gift inside with everyone. Noise is welcomed (and expected!), coloring books will be supplied, and dress is casual.

 5:00pm  Nichigobu- Japanese Language Service - With sermon and singing in both Japanese and English

 7:00pm   Candlelight Worship – Come sing carols, pray, and light a candle celebrating the coming of Christ.

Special August Worship Services

Come and join us for our summer worship services at 10:00am!  These services will be more laid back and casual, more relaxed and fellowship driven…yet as always placing God first in our hearts and minds and spirits as we give the very best we have to honor and give glory to God! Bring a family member or a friend and check us out!

Aug 4: 10:00am (Re) Discover Blaine: Practicing Service that Makes A Difference Sanctuary. Join us as we spend the morning serving the community.  We will put together school backpacks for Kimball Elementary, make meals for people who are homebound, put together health kits and more.  A Bar-B-Q lunch will be provided.

Aug.11: 10:00am Aloha Worship Courtyard

12:30pm Celebration Luau with traditional hawaiian food and entertainment. Featuring Halau of Kumu Claire Cortez, Blaine Ukelele Group, and Special Guest Performers.  Tickets: $35.00/adult, $20/children 10 and under.  Please contact the church office for tickets and information: blaineoffice@yahoo.com. This is a fundraiser for the Blaine Youth Group Summer Camps and Mission Ministry.

Aug.18: 10:00am Blessing of the Animals: All Creatures Great and Small  Courtyard.  Bring your pets, or pictures of pets or animals that you want to lift up and bless as part of God’s wonderful creation.
