Reverend Hiro Iwabuchi will speak on Saturday August 15th at 10am as part of his on-going Nichigo Lecture Series. The title of this month’s lecture is “A Question You Most Want To Ask” (part two). The purpose of the lecture series is to introduce the Scripture as the “map†and Jesus Christ as “the guide†for our life journey. The lecture is aimed at non-Christians but those who are already Christian will find their faith strengthened by the lecture. Reverend Hiro will be speaking in Japanese so he encourages English speaking folks to invite Japanese speaking folks to help interpret his message. Location: Webb room. Reverend Hiro hopes to see you then.

Nicaragua Mission Trip
August 14-22, 2015
A mission team of 27 will be traveling to Leon, Nicaragua and working with the non-profit community based organization, El Ayudante (means “The Helper”, www.eanicaragua.com). They are excited to show Christ’s love by providing dental care, building two kitchen additions and two latrines and holding a Vacation Bible School for the Nicaraguan Christian Home children. They feel blessed to be able to help El Ayudante develop long-term partnerships with the local community and their leaders by working with them on this short-term mission trip.
Your prayers for the mission team are greatly appreciated. If you want to become a prayer partner for one or all of our team members, please sign up at the Nicaragua Missions table in the Social Hall.
Learn MoreDr. Yamazaki was lead physician on the U.S. Atomic Bomb Medical Team studying the effects of nuclear bombing on children in Nagasaki. He has continued to research, publish, and speak out on the long-term effects of nuclear radiation on children and their descendants, and received the Socially Responsible Medicine Award from Physicians for Social Responsibility in 2008.
