Sermon Questions

  • What saint in your life has had the greatest influence on your faith?
  • It is common to think about “saints” as holier-than-thou and as the rare few. By virtue of our baptism, we are all called toward being saints. Do you think of yourself as called to be a saint? Why or why not? What difference would it make if you thought of yourself as a saint?

Blaine Memorial UMC will honor the Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos). Bring photos of your friends, family, and even pets who have passed so that we may honor them.

All Saints Worship Service – Dia de Los Muertos

  • When: Sunday, November 2, 10am
  • Where: Blaine Memorial UMC

All Saints’ Day is a Christian Memorial Day celebrating the honor of all church saints, whether known or unknown. Following Reverend Cruz Santos’ suggestion, we’ll celebrate All Saints’ Day, Sunday, November 2, jointly with the Latinx Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos), which — also like O-Bon — welcomes our saints back for a visit.

You’re invited to bring pictures of your loved ones (relatives, friends, animal companions) to honor and celebrate their memory and your time with them. You are welcome to bring photos, artwork, trinkets, tokens, prose, and poetry to place on the altar in remembrance of your dearly departed. Please bring items that you feel comfortable leaving on the altar as we will remember our departed ones at our All Saints’/Dia de los Muertos Worship Service.

Please come to enjoy the decor and some snacks for the celebration.  Everyone is invited to bring photos of loved ones who have passed on.

We will be reading names of our church members who have passed away from November 1, 2024-November 1, 2025.
