DO YOU HAVE MEDICARE HEALTH/RX QUESTIONS?
Cho Shimizu is available on the 2nd Friday of each month to help reconcile Medicare Insurance or Prescription Plan issues you may have.  Higher premiums, higher cost of drugs and larger gaps may warrant a review of your existing plan.  By filling out the Prescription Drug Form (available in the church office) and sending it to the noted addresses, a review with alternatives will be made to determine if it would be to your best interest to change plans.  You can also set up an appointment with Cho by calling the church office at 206-723-1536.  Cho is one of many State Health Insurance Advisor volunteers who are providing consultation if needed.

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED
Have you ever thought about being a missionary to another country?  Now you can without leaving the comfort of your own community!  We are looking are looking for 15 host families for high school students from Japan this summer for 4 weeks!  Learn about a new culture while teaching a foreign student about American customs & having the opportunity to witness through lifestyle evangelism!  Students arrive in Seattle on July 25th and leave on August 22nd.  They will be participating in classes and excursions during the day, and spending evenings and weekends with their host families.  If you are interested or have any questions, please contact:  Chris Inaba, 206-877-3118, chris.inaba@gmail.com

TULE LAKE PILGRIMAGE 2010– JULY 2-5
The 18th Annual Tule Lake Pilgrimage will be a four-day journey to the former Tule Lake Segregation Center, 35 miles from the California-Oregon border.  Late registrations are being accepted on a space available basis at $450/person. JCCCW RUMMAGE SALE – JULY 10
Start your spring cleaning now. Clean out your storage and support the Japanese Cultural Center! We are looking for donations of items to be sold at our annual Rummage Sale.  Items of special interest are: Japanese collectibles, antiques, artwork, dolls, toys, gently-used clothes, household goods, dishes, records,  and more.  Drop off your donations on July 8th (Thursday) and 9th (Friday) from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.  Interested volunteers should contact admin@jcccw.org or call (206) 568-7114.

Note:  There are several boxes of items found around Blaine that are going to be donated to the rummage sale.  Would appreciate a volunteer to pick up and deliver them to JCCCW on July 8 or 9.  Please call the office at   206-723-1536.  Thank you!!

Family of Kendo Yasuda, who passed away on June 6; father of Sharonne (Cho) Shimizu and Gary (Shawna) Yasuda; grandfather of Michelle (Gar) Nishioka, great- grandfather of Jayna and Cameron. Memorial Service was held at Community UMC in Ontario, OR on June 10.
Family of Kazuko Shimizu, who passed away on May 25; sister of Atsuko (Jim) Arnicar, Akira (Anne) Shimizu and Masaru (Naomi) Shimizu.  Private Memorial service was held on May 29.
Family of Jack Nomi, who passed away on Monday, April 12; husband of Tamaye; father of Julie (James Arzente), Russell (Gwen), Jeffrey (Margie); grandfather of Keiko, Ron, and Wesley.  Service was held on June 5.

CAMP MEKOKIKO & JAMAICA MISSIONS SHARING – JUNE 27
Next Sunday the two mission teams will be sharing their experiences in the Social Hall after worship service.  Lunch will be provided.  Plan on attending to hear what the teams accomplished and their personal
growth because of their involvement.

SOCIAL JUSTICE MEETING – JULY 11

JUNE MONTHLY COLLECTION – EMERGENCY FEEDING PROGRAM
June collection will be for the Emergency Feeding Program. This program will help children who have lost subsidized school lunches. They may be facing hunger when summer vacation begins.  Check the poster in the narthex for some of the needed items.    Please leave your donations in the collection trunks in the LAC and Narthex by June 27.  Thank you for your continued support.

SUMMER JOINT WORSHIP BEGINS TODAY
Our single summer worship services begins today.  Start time is 10:00 am in the Sanctuary with fellowship in the Social Hall for the entire summer through September 5. (Nichigo will be at 11:30 am in the Sanctuary.)

* 15-oz Cans of Peaches, Fruit Cocktail or Pineapple
* Jars of Baby Food (1st & 2nd foods only)
* Canned Soup (Low-sodium & vegan soups are particularly needed)

HELP BUILD A FOOD BANK GARDEN!!

FAREWELL CELEBRATION FOR THE NIEDA’S – TODAY
Farewell to the Niedas (Rev. Dave’s final sermon), Recognition – Scholarship Sunday; and potluck will all happen today starting beginning with our Joint Worship at 10:00 am in the LAC.  SPRC is coordinating a “Nieda Family Love Offering”.  See posted flyer.  There is always plenty of food so all are welcome to stay for the potluck and festivities.

20TH ANNIVERSARY WALK FOR RICE
The 20th Anniversary Walk For Rice will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Seward Park in Seattle.   Registration: 8:00 am, Run/Walk start: 10:00am.  Our Theme this year is: “BECAUSE EVERY GRAIN COUNTS” and our Goals are as follows:
• To provide Rice for 10,000 Asian-Pacific Islanders who are served
by the ACRS Food Bank each month.
• To recruit 1,200 Runners and Walkers to participate.
• To raise $200,000 through sponsors and donations, to provide rice
for the ACRS Food Bank.
