Ash Wednesday is also the start of our forty day lenten journey as we walk with Christ experiencing his life, death and resurrection which we celebrate at Easter. If you are interested in a Lenten study, we encourage you to pick up 40 Day Journey with Madeleine L’Engle, which allows us to grow deeper in our faith so that God’s word may fall on fertile soil. Lent is also a time when the community comes together and learns how to receive and live out God’s grace in the world. Our office has copies for purchase. Ash Wednesday is celebrated this year on February 22nd. We hope that you can join us at one of our two Ash Wednesday services. The times are noon and 6:00 p.m. and will be held in the Sanctuary. All are welcome to partake in receiving ashes on your forehead. The practice of receiving ashes reminds us of our mortality and the need to repent.

This week we return to our regular Sunday schedule after worshiping together in for the month of January. We’ll continue to have join in a single large group for Communion on the first Sunday of every month. Until the summer, our schedule will be:

First Sunday, Each Month

• 10:00 am Joint Worship & Communion in Sanctuary
• 11:30 am Nichigobu Worship in Sanctuary (Japanese Language)

Other Sundays:

• 9:30 am Traditional Service in Sanctuary
• 11:00 am Summit Service in Lee Center gym
• 11:00 am Nichigobu Worship in Sanctuary (Japanese Language)
