JANUARY MONTHLY COLLECTION
We continue to collect funds to purchase sleeping bags which will be handed out during Lord’s Table feedings. About 60 sleeping bags were handed out on January 18. We’re still in the coldest months of the year and those receiving the sleeping bags are most grateful. Checks may be made payable to Blaine Memorial UMC. Thank you for your continued support of our monthly collection programs. Yasu Okubo, Coordinator
PRAYER CLASSES
Rev. Kathleen will lead a four week study on Prayer – what is prayer; how do you do it; does God listen and answer; is there only one way to pray? If you have any of these questions, please join the classes for 45 minutes of talking and reflecting on our own experiences and then 45 minutes of exploring different ways to pray. It is not necessary to attend all 4. Drop in to any class at your convenience. Classes are scheduled for:
Sundays: January 24, 31 and February 7, 12:30 to 2:00 pm
Mondays: January 25, February 1, 8, and 15, 10:00 to 11:30 am

NORTHWEST NIKKEI CONFERENCE – APRIL 9-11
This year’s Nikkei Conference is set for April 9-11 hosted by Epworth UMC in Portland, OR. Please mark the dates on your calendar. At last year’s conference, it was decided that the conference will be dissolved in 2011 with the closing ceremony to be held at Blaine Memorial in Seattle. The Portland conference, then, will be the last regular gathering. Your presence will be greatly appreciated – save the dates! Kenji Onishi
