Prayer Triads – Week 1

During Lent, Blaine Memorial folks have agreed to meet in groups of three to pray for the church.  We will listen deeply to God during these 6 weeks, seeking to listen to who God is calling us to be and what God is calling us to do.  All triads are encouraged to post a response each week to create a community conversation.

Week 1 – Thanksgiving
Scripture – Psalm 136

Reflection Questions:
How has God been good to us at Blaine?  What do we have to be thankful for?  What have you learned about God through being at Blaine?

We invite you to post your triad’s response here.

Over the many years I’ve been at Blaine, He has seen us through changes in culture and generations and through some very tumultuous times. Truly, His love endures forever.

In my years at Blaine I have seen God work through and bless us many times! In gratitude I have seen people grow in their faith and trust of God. God is good!

The Old Testament and New Testament Classes have given me a new perspective on how I look at God.

Thank the Lord of good things provided,
    His steadfast love endures forever!
Give thanks to the Lord for our church family,
    His steadfast love endures forever!
The Lord who has provided us with a large and homey space,
    His steadfast love endures forever!
A family that spans multiple generations,
    His steadfast love endures forever!
With elders who offer wisdom and grace,
    His steadfast love endures forever!
And youth who enliven our home with enthusiasm (and bentos!),
    His steadfast love endures forever!
Give thanks to the Lord through empowering our members to share their personal gifts,
    His steadfast love endures forever!
A God who nurtures Nichigo, traditional, and contemporary worship services,
    His steadfast love endures forever!
Give thanks to the Lord for the challenges we face,
    His steadfast love endures forever!
For we shall endure by running the good the race (Walk for Rice!).
    His steadfast love endures forever!

In the 6 years I have been at Blaine Memorial, I’ve seen God’s enduring faithfulness and love through difficult times of conflict, through celebration, through stepping outside our comfort zones, and through people responding to God’s call on their lives.
